The AHS Leadership Team, known as the Alpha Mustangs, is composed of a select group of students that represent the various clubs, organizations, athletics, and activities around campus. In order to be chosen to be an Alpha Mustang, a student must show great leadership skills in a certain club to be nominated.
Once elected to the Leadership Team, students are administered a gold student ID to symbolize their belonging in the Alpha Mustangs. Students are faced with the responsibility to attend the meetings during ACE period when called upon by their sponsor, and to also make important decisions about events around the school.
The Alpha Mustangs is a new addition to Avoyelles High clubs, and is prospering wonderfully. The Alpha Mustangs organized this year's homecoming week and created all of the contests and contest rules. This has been a great homecoming for all! Also, Alpha Mustangs are responsible for reviewing and evaluating teacher's lesson plans. This enables the staff to see the student's perspective on various lessons, which has proven to be successful.
